Lifelike glass blueberries make a beautiful art display. The blueberry beads shown above have copper wire stems that can be turned into loops for jewelry making. Each berry is handmade from colored glass rods and no two are exactly alike. This mixed grouping illustrates the wide variety of sizes and degrees of ripeness I can make. The final touches of realism can include a few berries with imperfections such as little brown spots. The glass blueberries look even more lovely combined with the other glass berries and fruits that I make.
I create the coloring details with powdered glass that is permanently melted into the surface of each glass blueberry. Any “stems” are made of copper wire which is imbedded into the glass. These tiny treasures will last as heirlooms for many generations to come.
