These Glass Blueberry Earrings feature my handmade glass Blueberry beads hung on Sterling Silver v-wire findings. Each blueberry is about 1/2 inch in diameter. The blueberries are accented by dark green handmade glass leaves. These glass beads and leaves are hand-formed one at a time in the flame of a torch from colored glass rods. As a result no two blueberries are ever exactly alike.
I create each lampwork blueberry bead and leaf one at a time by melting Italian glass rods in the flame of a torch, so no two beads are ever exactly alike. For the glass blueberries I build the glass right onto a twist in the copper wire stem. Then I apply several coats of glass powder and melt them into the surface to create the color pattern. I don't use paint, so the color will never rub, flake or chip off. The ends of the flower star on each blueberry have been rounded to make them stronger and to prevent them from snagging on clothing.
