These Glass Rainier Cherry Earrings feature my handmade glass yellow cherry beads hung on 14/20 Gold-Filled V- wire findings. The cherries are accented by handmade transparent green glass leaves. The realistic rosy blush on the surface of each cherry is achieved by adding and melting in up to twenty separate layers of transparent red glass in the flame of a torch. No paint is used. As a result the color will not rub, flake or chip off. The cherry stems are made from a copper wire with a twist embedded into the glass so they cannot be pulled out.
The cherries shown above are a translucent yellow with a cranberry pink blush over part of their surface. If you'd like them to be almost all yellow or mostly red with a bit of yellow showing, just let me know when you order. There is room for some variation in size. I normally make the cherries about 12mm across at the widest point, but they can be as large as 14mm or as small as 10mm. I can also make the leaves larger or smaller, or of an opaque green instead of transparent.
