The Glass Blueberry Necklace you see here features one of my handmade glass ripe blueberries and one glass leaf. The blueberry is about 1/2 inch in diameter, and the leaf is about 1.25 inches long. The berry and leaf are suspended from a sterling silver slider over sterling silver figure-eight chain. The copper wire stems of the blueberry is embedded inside the glass and cannot be pulled free. These beads are hand-formed individually in the flame of a torch. The color of the blueberry is achieved by melting in layers of powdered glass, so the color can never rub, flake or chip off. No two glass blueberries are ever exactly alike.
The standard length for the figure-eight chain you see above is 20 inches and it is finished with a lobster clasp. You may wear it at any length you please by clipping the lobster into the link of your choice. The free end of the chain is finished with a small matching glass leaf. Different lengths and clasp styles are available by special order. Like all of my jewelry, this design is available in both Sterling Silver and 14/20 Gold-Filled.
