These Glass Rainier Cherry Earrings feature my handmade glass cherry beads hung on Sterling Silver v- wire findings. The cherries are accented by handmade transparent green glass leaves. I normally make the cherries about 1/2 inch across at the widest point to keep the weight down. The realistic rosy blush on the surface of each cherry is achieved by adding and melting in up to twenty separate layers of transparent red glass in the flame of a torch. No paint is used. As a result, the color will not rub, flake or chip off. The cherry stem is made from a copper wire with a twist embedded into the glass, so it cannot be pulled out. The cherry is life-sized, about 1 inch across at the widest point.
Alternative earring findings including post, leverback, screwback and clip-on are available at the same price. Other cherry earring variations and matching necklaces can be seen on the Cherries Page of this site. Cherry earrings can also be custom made with high-karat gold or platinum findings and accented with Swarovski Crystal or Cubic Zirconia leaves.
