The Glass Peach Necklace you see here features three of my handmade glass peach beads, accented by six olivine green Swarovski crystals and hung on 14/20 Gold-Filled figure-eight chain. Like real peaches, each of my glass peaches has a matte surface with areas of dark red blush and a crease down one side. Each peach bead is created by melting glass in the flame of a torch, directly onto the twisted end of a copper wire which becomes the stem. Because the copper stem is embedded inside the glass it can never be pulled free. The ripe blush is achieved by melting several colors of powdered glass onto the surface, so it will not rub, flake or chip off. No two peaches are exactly alike.
The total length for the necklace you see above is 20 inches. It is finished with a lobster clasp on one end and a matching Swarovski crystal on the other. The necklace is centered at 19 inches, but you may wear the necklae at any length between 18 inches and 20 inches by clipping the lobster into the link of your choice. Like all of my jewelry, this design is available in both 14/20 Gold-Filled and Sterling Silver.
