This Glass Cloudberry Bracelet features five of my glass Cloudberry beads. The glass cloudberries are accented by small green glass leaves and by Swarovski crystals in various shades of orange, golden-yellow and yellow to mimic ripening berries. These Cloudberry beads were created one at a time by melting glass rods in the flame of a torch and building them up cell by cell. No two are exactly alike.
Unfortunately, no manufacturer makes glass in the colors of natural cloudberries so I must always mix my own glass colors to make them. This process involves mixing together as many as three different shades of clear, orange and yellow glass. As they ripen real cloudberries begin with an unripe bright yellow color which deepens to tart-ripe apricot, and eventually to an fully-ripe orange. When mixing color for Salmonberry beads I generally try to duplicate the ripe orange color for which they are most famous. Because no paint has been used in their making the color of these beads will never rub, flake or chip off.
For strength the bracelet is strung on 49-strand stainless steel beading wire with a green covering and it is finished with Sterling Silver findings. The length of the bracelet you see above can be adjusted between 7 and 9 inches by clipping the lobster clasp into the link of your choice. I can also make the bracelet in a different length, with different clasp style or with gold filled findings if you prefer - just specify your requirements in your email when you order.
